My Birthday celebration

A cake bought by Hubby. It was a yucky cheesy cake from Bakerzine still prefer their chocolate cake.

Oh no I am one yr older!!! sign. But my sweet girl gave me a birthday present to cheer me up. A $50 dollars real note which she found on the floor which was mine of course and a pair of chopsticks compliment from Brands chicken essence. And Wan Qi she was so proud of it as if the present was really bought for me from her. Haha.
After a few days, she still tell me "Mama, I was very nice to you right. Remember I gave you a pair of chopsticks on your birthday." I told her lovingly "Ya, I remember"but inside I was thinking it's from brands chicken essense what. gegege

Wan qi attended Anya's Birthday Party

Family photos

Self entertained with the many balloons!

Wan Qi looking at the beautiful $170!!!! mickeymouse cake and said Awesome. hahaha

Best of friends

A contented girl with 2 scoops of ice cream:)

Both Wan Qi and Dash standing in front of the cake to play with their paper rolling game which they had continued from the dining area to the cake cutting area.:P

Wan Qi loves birthday just like one of her favourite story character Wilbur. (Winnie the witch's cat)She even insisted on drawing a picture for birthday girl Anya. I thought the strawberry shortcake was well drawn. :)
Then I let Wan Qi wore the new dress that I had bought for her from Tangos and we were all prepared to go for Anya's Birthday party. And we were the first guests among our friends to reach the COWBOY place(think its a restaurant with the cowboy theme. Quite cute. The waitress are in their cowgirls suits)
Wan Qi was very excited as she saw there were different types of ice-cream for her to choose. She had fun playing with balloons. And had fun meeting her friend Dash (best of friends)and little baby Anya, meimei Ada, Jun Jun, Justin, little baby Yuxin and DIDI Yuteng.
But I guess the best part is she gets to eat 2 scoops of ice cream and a piece of cake all at the same time. :) Then she had some time to play "rolling of papers" with Dash and "discussing" about baby Anya's birthday cake.
Wan Qi truly enjoyed herself - She told us that when we were back in our car. :>

Reunion Dinner @ Ban Heng Restaurant

I love this cheong sum but its really to ex 52.90 so i didnt buy for Wan Qi. She loves the bag but I didnt buy for as its too ex too 26.90. haha Ya I am a stingy mummy. But I bought the pair of sandals 30.90

Preparing to LO YU San. See Wan Qi holding on to the chopstick ready to LO. She can use the chopsticks using both her left and right hand. Amazing!Picking up peanuts with chopsticks in restaurant is a good training for her.

This year we decided to have our reunion dinner in a restaurant. As I just had my operation and it will be a bit tiring for us to prepare. So we opted for Ban Heng as we always see crowd in this ulu restaurant near our place. Hence, we thought of giving it a try. Unfortunately, it was ex and the food was not delicious at all. We paid 368 bucks for not so great dishes. Our last and only time to this restaurant.
After that, we went searching for Wan Qi's shoe and we got it at bloom B vivocity.
It cost 30.90 which I thought it was very expensive. But after chit chatting with colleagues, I realised that this price is the norm in fact its considered cheap. Gosh cost of living in Singapore is really gettin higher and higher.
To end the day, we went to Bakerzin. After purchasing the membership card, all our birthday cakes are from there. We love their cakes and the ice cream is yummy too.

Wan Qi and her dearest cousin in the same school

My little niece waving happily to her dearest Ye Ye(Grandpa). In fact, she was searching for her Ye Ye before entering the school to say good bye to him. However, the door was overcrowded and his Ye Ye was being blocked by other parents. So I had to tell her Ye Ye that her little granddaughter was looking to wave at him. After seeing her Ye Ye, she happily waved and even gave a flying kiss to him. (For some reason, granddaughters always seem to adore grandpas. Just like myself and Wan Qi, we love our grandpas too.)Then she walked into the hall insisting on carrying her own bag. (As Wan Qi offered to take for her)

Wan Qi loves her little cousin Xuan Ning who is studying in the same school as Wan Qi now. She will offer to carry her bag for her. And when they meet each other in the school whether it is in the toilet or corridor, she will kiss and hug her. So now both of them are "famous" in school. The teacher was telling me about Wan Qi being very excited whenever she sees her cousin in school. And I repiled "oh ya cos she loves her alot". After that I thought the teacher might not want to hear this after all, she might actually want me to apologise to her as I think it can be quite disturbing if Wan Qi suddenly move out from her queue to hug her little cousin. Or was it me who is reading too much into my conversation with the teacher. Haha as I myself is a teacher, I will tend to think that there may be some other underlying meaning which the teacher tried to put it nicely across to me. Too paranoid Xihong would say. But no choice, as we are trained to say nice things to parents during meet the parents session, I thought so do kindergarten teachers.

Nevertheless, I didnt stop Wan Qi from hugging her little cousin in school. Cos she is really irresistable!Though she is of a small build, she is a really brave girl. She didnt cry on the first day of school. In fact, she was smiling away happily.
Even when she tried to hold her friend and her friend caused her to fall down, she didnt cry, she just stand up by herself and moves on. Very independant little gal.
Everyday without fail, I will give her a hug before rushing to school. Still waiting for her to call me Yi YI though. :P

My little princess

Went shopping with my mum during the holidays. Wan Qi insisted on wearing the disney pricess t-shirt. Crazy about being the disney princess after the trip from Disney Hongkong.

Hair cut for Wan Qi

Nowadays,Wan Qi's haircut is free as my mum will bring Wan Qi to her childhood's friend's salon to cut Wan Qi's hair. She did a good job previously so I asked my mum to bring her there when school reopens cos the salon is just walking distance from Wan Qi's school.
But this time round, it was not very well cut cos Wan Qi was fidgeting. She must be having a phobia cos during the holidays I tried to cut her fringe and she was very scared that I will poke her eyes. I got amgry and started scolding her. :P
So back at home I did some trimming for her. But I dont like her fringe cos I always like girls to have full straight fringe and not layered fringe.Anyway,I will ask my mum to tell her friend not to layered the fringe. For the time being, a new hairstyle might not be a bad thing, afterall her fringe grows very fast.
Umm, my mum told me Wan Qi led the adults had a good laugh in the salon including the customers. Cos my mum was telling her childhood friends that "Remember when we were young, our parents will drag us to salons and go for botak head" Upon hearing that, Wan Qi said loudly"I dont want to cut botak head Hah " a few times just to make my mum's friend dont cut botak head for her. :> Of course, she didnt just a WAWA hairstyle which Wan Qi said she looks just like her new classmate now.

1st Day Of School 2011

I am very lousy when it comes to tying hair but I tried my best today. And tala. Wan Qi said she looks like Rapunzel.

Today is Wan Qi's first day of school. My mum had to work till 10am and I couldnt bathe WanQi since I just had my operation so I asked Wan Qi to bathe on her own. She did this a few time during the holidays with Xihong's supervision so I supposed she will be ok.
And indeed, she was able to wash her hair, brush her teeth without all the fuss. (Whether clean or not , this I am not very sure. haha but I checked her teeth and brush for her again)But one thing which I thought is very clever about her is she actually put a small pail underneath her when she is washing her hair. The water collected was then poured to a bucket which she told me can be used to flush the toilet afterwards. Brilliant! Then when she bathe, she put the pail in between her legs and collected some water too. haha It was so cute to see her bathing herself. Brought back fond memories when my mum bathed her in the small small tub back then when she was so tiny. And now she knows how to bathe by herself and even know how to save water for us. gegege
After this piece of good news. The bad new was my mum cannot bring Wan Qi to school as she said the stall was packed with people. Arrggg. So even after having operation, I had no choice but to bring Wan Qi to school. Feel strained after the whole thingy as I was advised not to carry heavy things, however I need to bring Wan Qi's stuff plus need to carry her to the public toilet. (I hoped that will not cause any problem )but I am also happy to see Wan Qi listening attentively to her teacher even when her friend sitting next to her was disturbing the person beside her. (This is the only time where parents are allowed to stand outside the classroom to watch the kids)She also participated actively during their sing a long session with all the actions. Good job Wan Qi!

At about 2:45pm, I went to fetch Wan Qi. I am glad to see my dad. So he helped me to carry all my things. We reached home earlier as my dad told Wan Qi that I need to have a good rest. So Wan Qi agreed. And here I am off for my bed rest.
