Day 2 Lamma Island- Educational Trip

Yipee we reached the pier to Lamma Island. The ferry ticket is only $17.70hkg dollar.

Wan Qi loves cats. She is so happy to see one in Lamma island and kept stroking it.
I pray she does not bring one home when she is bigger. haha or my milky will be scared to death. haha ya a dog scared of cats. Just know it that day, a black cat tried to frighten it and she quickly run back to her mama (me!!!)

pupa fish. It will blow up its stomach when being "tickled" by the fisherman. a cute and funny sight.

This sea creature can be found way in dinosour time. The fisherman says that as it is ugly so nobody wants to eat them not even animals. haha. But now people do, they eat up the legs.

Wan Qi get a chance to feed the gigantic fishes. They were enormous. As big as me.

Didnt know starfish is hard. thought its slimy slimy

This is a 30 plus years old ship. Notice Wan Qi has a HU LU behind her back. This HU LU is actually used by fishermen to prevent their young toddlers or children from drowning. They are tied behind the kids at their backs to act like life jackets.

Pull Pull Pull

Wan Qi went to touch the scallop and abalone before the chef cooked it.

Eating seafood in Lamma Island is a must. Its so cheap. We order a fish, prawns, scallop and one abalone(haha the one and only)vege only cost $30.
But think should have tried Rainbow(the famous seafood restaurant in lamma island). The one that we tried is not bad , the food is fresh but think Rainbow might be more delicious since its famous.

Day 2 Hongkong - shopping at causeway bay and end up in NAN YA island

We went to causeway bay to do shopping. Yeo Yeo bought his working shirts in g2000 and they were cheap. :)Then we shopped in times square and met my colleague Hui Ru. She told me the way to go to Lian Xiang by MTR. Thanks to her, we saved money cos I was thinking of taking a cab the next day when we go for dim sum.
And since it started to rain, I decided not to shop in causeway bay. We then proceed to Wellington st where all the yummy food are. Managed to find Lian Xiang but it was simply too crowded so we headed to another famous toast stall. It was just a small eatery but it was packed of people (many famous people patronize this eatery). But we decided not to eat there as the lady boss was so stuck up. Who bothers, dont think the toast or ham macroni will be that great after all. We left the place and walked further down. This place is full of up slope and down slope. PANT PANT PANT!!!
And finally I found the famous wanton noodle eatery. So of course must try. Not bad. Yum Yum Yum. Then I proceed to look for the famous goose restaurant. Unfortunately there are too too many people. Famous people patronize this restaurant too. Saw Goh Chok Tong's picture at the entrance and many other country leaders. wow!
In the meantime, I always take note of the road signs. And I guessed that from Wellington st, I can get to central pier. So we just walked and walked. Finally we saw the MTR and Xihong said we just take it to see if we can make it to central pier to take the ferry to lamma island. But I thought there should be a bus that we can take to the central pier since we are already near zhong huan so I went to the bus stop and true enough there is a bus 15C to central pier. Hit jackpot!!! Yipee. And its a fun ride.

It's so windy at the top of the open top bus. Lucky that we took it after a rain or it will be too hot to enjoy the ride.

Xihong bought this peanut candy at their souvenir shop. But I dont dare to try all this sweet stuff.

So we managed to find central pier.haha Must praise myself for it cos I managed to find the open top bus without going by MTR suggested by Mr Yeo. Killed two birds with one stone. We can enjoy the trip by the open top bus(and its so cheap only $4.60 HKG dollar)plus it stops right at the central pier. If we were to take MTR, we will have to walk a long long way.The ferry fare is only $17.70HKG not even $3 SGD

Day 2 Hongkong

Not so early in the morning, we went out. Actually intended to go Lian Xiang Restaurant - a famous and old dim sum restaurant but since we woke up too late decided not to go. We woke up at 8 plus. Ya its considered late cos this restaurant open at 5am and it will be very packed if we go too late.(Thats what I gathered from the food bloggers for HKG)so we ended in a small eatery nearby our place. The YOU TIAO is great but not so for the porridge. Xihong ate the pigs' blood porridge. He siad is good but not my century egg porridge, I dont like HKG pork taste. haha
Still prefer Singapore century egg porridge

2nd Day in Hongkong

This is a must desert that I must have when go to HongKong. XU LIU SHAN mango desert. Yummy!!! ate 2 bowls. And of course before that we had fishball noodles and oyster porridge. Yummy Yummy!!!

We stayed in cosmo mongkok. convenient and its clean. just that its quite small but of course hotels are generally small unless its though high end hotels. This is just a 4 star but as long as its cheap and clean, still all right lo. We paid only $238 for 4 days 3 nights thanks to groupon. haha

Managed to go to temple street in Hongkong's mini bus. It only cost HKG$4.20 which is SGD70 cents. Wow the old driver actually has to multi task. We will drop the coins into the box, he will pull it with a string attached to it so that the coins will drop into the container. Then before every stop he has to say out aloud the street name. He is very nice and even apologised when he didnt tell us to alight at temple street.(Which in the first place we didnt ask him to do so, as I thought I will be able to see the road name as we go along. This is call GEK KIANG lo)

Originally, I wanted to go to Temple Street(Miao Jie)to eat at DA PAI DANG but it started to rain and we still cant find temple street so in the end we chose to eat in a small restaurant as there were many people in it. We ordered a set which includes steam fish , tofu and vege. The fish is very fresh and tasty. Thumbs up for the fish.

Had steam egg desert for supper. The place is crowded with many locals. But I dont really fancy this desert actually, just follow the crowd.
