Ada mei mei is born

I was wrapping Ada's present in the morning. 28/2/08(Weishan's baby girl) Wan Qi came over and I told her we will be giving this present to mei mei. She looked at me for a while without saying anything. So I tried to explain to her cos the other day when I brought her to buy Ada's present she was very excited and kept saying buy present for meimei and after buying the present she kept holding it and said "give mei mei".But I was told by my maid that I shouldnt wrap and give the present if the baby is not born yet so I told Wan Qi we cannot wrap the present so when she saw me wrapping today she looked at me with an inquisitive look. Therefore I explained to her that Ada mei mei is born and that she will have a playmate. She then said"How about Qi Qi born?" I laughed I was thinking, she must be thinking it's so good to be born cos one will have presents. I told her that when she was born, she also receive presents. Then I told her Ada mei mei said Thank you to you. And she give me a smile and said "Qi qi is a good JIE JIE right?" I laughed and said Yes you are a good JIE JIE.

I am glad that she is quite "generous". Whenever I give presents to JIE JIE and GOU GOU or DI DI , MEI MEI she will not be sad. She even tell my maid"Don't touch. It's mei mei's(Ada) present."

Wan Qi loves to do puzzle

According to Shichida, to have talented kids,parents should let them do puzzle. And they should able to acquire this ability before 2yrs old. Hence, I let Wan Qi do the simple puzzle those with knobs at a very tender age about 7mths plus but she wasn't very interested and because she don't really know how to sit probably at that time I was scared that she might fall and hit the knob so I gave up eventually.
And when she was about eleven mths, I let her play again and she knew how to do it. And then I realised it was my helpful maid who had been playing with her. :) I was quite contented and didn't pay much attention to it. It was only after talking to my colleague Hui Li that I started to panick. Apparently, her daughter had already know how to do a 20pcs puzzle by 2 yrs. Out of panick, I went to Kiddypalace and bought a box of 3-5 pcs puzzles for Wan Qi who was by then 16mths. I thought I still have some time to catch up. :P
And from then on, Wan Qi's love for puzzle grow. I remembering cheering and laughing when she first did the 3 pcs dog puzzle on her own while I went to the kitchen. It was such a rewarding experience to see that she can accomplised the puzzle on her own.
Now, I could just leave her alone while she did all her puzzle. Right now she is doing a 20pcs puzzle too. Target reached thanks to Mummy Hui Li. (Aiyo lazy mummy always have to be pushed by friends and colleagues)

Wan Qi 's first barney lantern

I bought a Barney lantern for Wan Qi - her favorite character. She was delighted. We decided to bring her to the Chinese Garden to celebrate Mid Autum festival.

But in the end, it was mummy carrying the Barney lantern. :P She was more interested in the rides plus walking in the crowd stress!!!!!!

Wan Qi's first Bird Park Trip

Wan Qi's first bird park trip proved to be a tougher trip as compared to her first zoo trip cos she wanted to walk on her own and mummy is very stress and had to bend down to catch hold of her in case she fall.

Wan Qi enjoyed the show put up by her birdie friends. However, right after the show she wanted to climb the stairs more than anything else. Had a tough time taking this pic :P

Wan Qi's Gymboree class

I let Wan Qi attended Gymboree lesson when she was about 14mths old. She likes the environment even though mummy prefer sending her to Baby Jumper. But since she likes Gymboree so decided to enrol her for Gymboree lesson instead. The principle
is as long as she is happy she will be a good learner.


This particular Sunday, Wan Qi's Yi Yi, Po Po and Gong Gong also accompanied her to Gymboree. This pic was taken in an MRT.

Trying to climb the ladder. She is quite a brave girl however she is quite apprehensive about tunnels. She never go through the tunnels for her 12 lessons there. :P

After our trip from the zoo, I was very thirsty and reached for a packet of Green tea and Wan Qi was very interested to take a sip.










It's like she had gotten a treasure!!

After much exploring, she decided to take a sip but of no success. Haha
she still dont' know how to drink from a straw. Yipee. I am cautious of her food and drink intake so wont want her to drink any other beverages besides water and milk.

Wan Qi's first CNY @2007

On 18 Feb, it's Chinese New Year 2007. This year is a very special year for all of us because we have a new member in our family - Wan Qi. She is all dressed up for the occasion. I had bought a little maroon cheong sum for her. In addition, I had bought her a pink pyjamas. It was those traditional kind- bring back fond memories of my childhood. I remember my mum also buy such pyjamas for my sis and I when we were young. Um but now the quality of the pyjamas seemed to have deteriote. When we were young these pyjamas' cloth is so much softer.

TAI JIAO- Classic reading

Dont know if its because of tai jiao (since I had been the teacher for classic reading during my pregnancy), Wan Qi seems to have a FEEL for SAN ZI JING.
This is the first book that she recognise at eleven mth old. If you ask her to go and take REN ZHI CHU, she will find it for you. We were quite shock at first and doesnt believe she is able to recognise. So we actually hid the book first before asking Wan Qi to look for it. And guess what she really recognise the little red SAN ZI JING book which we read to her practically everyday. She will go and look for it until she finds it.To date, she is able to recite right from REN ZHI CHU XING BEN SHAN to YANG BU JIAO FU ZHI GUO JIAO BU YAN SHI ZHI DUO.

Wan Qi's one yr old birthday

Today on 28Apr 07, we held a party for Wan Qi cos its her 1 yr old birthday. We were definitely excited. All our friends came to celebrate. Thanks everyone :>
I'm very excited about the cake that I had been sourcing for a mth which it's a two tier cake with pearls and a very cute teddy bear which I think it's extremely cute. However, it's a bit of a disappointment cos the driver didnt handle with care and the edge of the cake was actually smurged. I was quite angry and demanded them to send it back and redo the edges for me. And they did but the results was so so only. However, didnt want to spoil the mood plus I think its a really cute cake so I jus take it.
Before the cake cutting session, Wan Qi's godfather Kelvin took a few pictures for her. He's a good photographer. Hmm he managed to take few photos for Wan Qi in her red super fox blouse which I had bought for her. It's red colour Wan Qi 's lucky colour for the year 2007.
During the cake cutting session, I had chosen the pink dress bought by my sis in law. We sang the birthday song for Wan Qi and I am pretty sure this birthday had made an impact for her. (She managed to relate to a story about birthday later on and is able to pronounce brithday shortly)
As whether she complished the mission. She completed half of it. When I asked her to blow she did I heard her foow foow sound trying to blow the candle but she didnt managed to blow the flames so mummy and daddy did. Three cheers for Wan Qi for the effort.
Then we had the traditional game for 1 yr old babies. That is to select pen, abacus, sweet cake. Each symbolsing different things. If the baby select pen, it means the baby will be a scholar, abacus will mean she will be a businessman and sweet cake a greedy piggy. haha guess what mummy is praying hard that Wan Qi doesnt take the sweet cake. In the end, Wan Qi took the pen and play with the abacus!!!!!
So does it mean Wan Qi will fulfill Mummy's dream and open up a school. haha

 

 

Birthday mission

I wanted Wan Qi to complete a mission on her birhtday and that is to BLOW CANDLE. She has 1 month to practise before she reached her 1 yr old birthday. So that very night, I switched off the lights and lighted up the candle for her to blow. She was amazed by it. And I thought her how to do it. She was doing very well for the first attempt. I was so proud of her. But after doing two to three nights, lazy mummy stopped trying and decided to wait for the BIG DAY to come.
Reason being - lazyyyyyyyy lo.

By the time Wan Qi is ten mths plus she is able to say a few words dad dad, ball (her favourite toy) bird (which was taught by her gong gong) , milky or Xiong ah which is my goody goody dog mama, fish, purple, red, quiet
A short story on how she learnt how to say "bird" hua4 shuo1 that day when my dad brought Wan Qi to the playground at kallang, suddenly a flock of bird flew up to the tree and my dad said bird bird fei1 so Wan Qi began to associate the flying creature as "bird" haha thanks to my dad.
Subsequently, she knew how to say dog cos I have one spolit girl in my house lo. hee but later on Wan Qi began to call her by her name which made us laugh cos she will call her Milky or Xiong Ah sometime. Why did Wan Qi call my dog Xiong Ah cos she heard my mum scolding my spolit dog who likes to run out of our house. In fact, Wan Qi actually copy my mum's tone of voice when she call Xiong Ah.
In fact, thanks to my goody goody dog Milky, Wan Qi actually learnt a lot of her language indirectly from her. For example "Quiet" if we want Milky to stop barking. So who says having a dog at home with a baby is no good :P
Then there was another occasion, I saw Wan Qi holding my red rubber stick and pointing to my Milky and guess what she said Bian4 Bian4 Bian4 meaning change change change.
Why ????????? I thought to myself . Suddenly my maid and myself cant help laughing cos she is actually copying a storybook character in the story WU1PO2YU3HEI1MAO1 where the witch wanted to change her cat into multicolours. So Wan Qi actually want to change my white maltese Milky into multicolours haha with red head pink tail purple legs .

Wan Qi's First Word

Wan Qi's first word is Dad Dad at five going to six months old. But my mum say its not possible. She said its not possible that Wan Qi know how to call Dad Dad at such a tender age. But she really did. Cos whenever Xihong comes back from home she will say Dad Dad.
Unfortunately, she dont know how to say Mama. :( But I always repeat Mama to her so that she could call me in no time. hee hee dont want to lose out to her daddy.

Chicken Pox Help!!

After returning to my workplace for just one day, I fell sick the next day. And to my horror, the doctor said that I had chicken pox. And worst of all, about two weeks later, my Wan Qi also had chicken pox. It's the worst nightmare for me and my family members. Xihong and I was so stress up. Wan Qi's fever ever shot up to 39.7 degree celsius. In fact, there were many times that I used my hands to hit on my head as I was really very worried for her. Cos this unlike the immunisation fever, this fever actually lasted for almost twenty days. Plus, I am always worried about the scars that might leave on her body. But I was helpless cos when slept on her back, the bubbles will jus burst by itself. Sign.
But luckily, she is ok now. But some of the scars are still there. However, my cousin said the scars will disappear cos she is still young. :)
